Probably making the smallest wire known to modern man (for quantum computers).
I made a chain of individual atoms, trapped the chain in a carbon nanotube, and then imaged and characterised it using an electron microscope (atoms look like finger dimples in a memory foam pillow).
My biggest achievement was working on the world’s largest airplane engine, where I helped develop code to detect cracks in the engine. It was amazing to see how technology could be used to improve safety in such a powerful machine! Knowing that my work played a role in making air travel safer is something I’m really proud of.
