      I live in Hartlepool with my girlfriend. We have a cat called Smudge. I have lived and worked all over the UK. I went to university twice and have two degrees, Chemistry and Polymer-Engineering. Unusually for a lot of scientists, I have had lots of different jobs not all related to science.
      My hobbies are mostly around board games, books and walking. I love the countryside and try and go on long hikes in national parks whenever I go on holiday. Outside of what I do I am very interested in Nuclear power and History.

      I work as a Technical Service Engineer . This means I help factories that use our catalysts get the most out of them. My job is to talk to people who use a catalyst to make formaldehyde for use in industry.

      My job is working for Johnson Matthey, a chemicals company. Johnson Matthey has customers all over the world and I get to speak to and visit people from all over; Macedonia, Poland, America, Argentina, South-Africa, Japan, China, Malaysia, and India to name a few.

    • My Typical Day:

      I wake up and get ready for work. Sometimes this means just working from my laptop at home, but I also have an office that I go to.

      My main job is answering questions and checking over other people’s data. I then give them advice on how to make improvements. Most of my colleagues live and work in Sweden which is one hour ahead of the UK, so I start and finish my day earlier.

      About once a month I will go and visit a customer face to face. Travelling all over the world to meet people.

    • Education:

      I went to my local comprehensive school between the ages of 11 and 18. staying on to do A-Levels after my GCSE’s. It was a short distance from my parents house, and I could walk there quickly.

      I did an undergraduate Degree at the University of Hull and a Master’s degree at the University of Manchester. I lived in both cities while I was there.

      11 GCSE’s, 3 AS Levels, 3 A Levels, BSc Chemistry, MSc Polymer Engineering, CChem-Chartered chemist status in the  RSC.
