I am a chemical engineer and work as a Lecturer at Lancaster University. This means that I do lots of scientific research and higher education teaching. I have a passion for lifelong learning. I became a scientist in 2022 following a career in something completely different. I completed science qualifications (a degree and a Masters) with the Open University while working, and I have a degree in Business Studies. I have volunteered in the past with the Museum of Science and Industry, an NHS hospital, The Access Project, and I have been part of a team that engages with work experience students at my place of work.
I am married and I live in Burton-on-Trent, although I am originally from Buxton. I have a step-daughter and a granddaughter, and I love spending time with them.
I do lots of running in my spare time because I like to be out and about, and I am a licensed England Athletics endurance coach. I like going to gigs, and over the last few months I have seen The Prodigy, Unkle, Linkin Park, Oasis, The Charlatans, and Imagine Dragons.

Hey everyone! I recently moved 300 miles away from my family (and my dog) in the South West to the North East to begin my Apprenticeship journey and the start of my career.
This was a big move for me at 18. Everyday, I face new and sometimes challenging situations both in work and in my personal life but I am having so much fun!
I love going to work everyday where I deal with data, do some programming and help improve the quality of our medicines and make sure they reach our patients faster.
