Hiya, my name is Viviene and I used to work with big, powerful lasers, and automation but now I focus on lasers for space (internet in space maybe?) and sometimes work on lasers that could be used for healthcare. I’m a small girl who likes plants and double cream Oreos. I spend time reading and watching science-related stuff and when I’m not, I’m usually spending time with family and friends.

Hey everyone! I recently moved 300 miles away from my family (and my dog) in the South West to the North East to begin my Apprenticeship journey and the start of my career.
This was a big move for me at 18. Everyday, I face new and sometimes challenging situations both in work and in my personal life but I am having so much fun!
I love going to work everyday where I deal with data, do some programming and help improve the quality of our medicines and make sure they reach our patients faster.

Hi! I’m Matt and I’m a Materials Scientist that lives in Sandbach, Cheshire and works at Manchester Metropolitan University. I live with my partner Alice and my partially-sighted Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Bert (see picture of him flying!) 🐶. If I am not in the lab, you can usually find me playing video games, swimming, travelling, playing football or drinking a lot of coffee (definitely not all at the same time 😉)
