Where I grew up meant that I relied on bridges to get from one place to another. And as a working port for maintenance of oil rigs, we always used to see them in the harbour towering over the town. This was part of what made me become an Engineer โ my curiosity of how these things stood up and how bridges worked.
Studying physics at university, I didnโt really enjoy quantum mechanics but loved working on the technical side and programming. When I switched degree direction I was introduced to control systems and ended up getting a job after university as a control systems engineer. I have a science degree (B.Sc) rather than an engineering degree (B.Eng) but no one really minds.
Iโve always been interested in how things work and liked to try making things. So most of my career has involved technical stuff. I studied Materials Science & Engineering at Uni and then that just opened up so many options for my future.
