      Hi,

Yes for sure there has been moments that have made me more motivated and also moments when I reflect on a task I maybe didn’t do so well.

One example would be when I was helping out on a task to buy new heart rate monitors for the Heart Hospital in Bristol. I was fairly new to the job and got quite a lot of responsibility, therefore, understandably, was quite nervous. These nerves kept me on my toes but my lack of experience meant that I missed asking a group of staff what they would want from the heart rate monitors.

Getting everyones input is really important in this task, so whilst it didn’t make a huge difference, it motivated me to pay really close attention to how the devices we buy impact everyones jobs, as well as being careful to translate their needs into functions of a device.

I failed 2 of the exam subjects at the end of my 1st year of uni. I had to resit them in the September and pass or I would have been kicked out. That made me rethink how hard I needed to work. I probably hadn’t worked as hard as I could up until then. There were some things I found fairly easy before that, but this made me realise I couldn’t rely on that any more.
I did pass the resits, and didn’t fail anything else.
