Hi! My name is Sarah and I am a chemist, living in Bedfordshire. During the day, I work on research focusing on cleaning the air. I spend my spare time either running, playing hockey, reading or doing something fun like building Lego sets.

My Work:
I’m a chemist working developing technologies that clean the air we breathe. My job involves working on catalytic converters for petrol cars, and ensuring the exhaust pipe gives clean emissions.

My Typical Day:
I’ve been in my role for 3 years but with the company for 10. I manage a team of chemists to develop new ideas for my technology. My typical day involves working with my team interpreting data and coming up with new ideas, attending meeting with customers and suppliers and talking to colleagues all over the globe.

Education:
I had a three tier schooling system. I was in primary school from reception to year 4. Then middle school from year 4 to year 8, and finally secondary school and sixth form from year 9 onwards. I went to school in Hertfordshire.
I did my undergraduate and masters degree at the University of Leicester, in Chemistry with Pharmaceutical Science. This was a full chemistry degree with additional topics in Biology and Pharmacology.

I have 9 GCSEs, 3 AS levels and 3 A-levels.
