My Work: As a Biomedical Scientist and Customer Technical Specialist, I train others how to use analysers in hospitals to run patientās blood samples.

My Typical Day: I travel all round the UK. I can be in a different place everyday, meeting doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals and I get to show them how to use different analysers. Thereās a lot of driving and spending many nights in hotels. Which means I always have a really good breakfast and I get to meet lots of different people. Fridayās however I mostly work from home, catching up on emails.

Work History:I have had so many jobs. I started as a manager of a fish and chip shop, worked as a barmaid, then in a bank during the day and at night I was a palladium dancer in London. Ten years later I started my science career, as a laboratory assistant after completing a level 4 qualification in Health Science. I stayed with the same company and appling for different positions as they came available. I started a Biomedical Science Apprenticeship whilst working as an Associate Practitioner in the laboratory. I also completed the HCPC registration to become a Biomedical Scientist at the same time as the apprenticeship. I am now working with Siemens Healthineers as a Customer Technical Specialist and am looking forward to see what else may be round the corner.
