Systems engineering involves working across the engineering lifecycle of a product, from concept and system design to testing and verification. It is a multi-disciplinary role, working with specialists in different fields (e.g. structures, flight systems, human factors) to integrate each component of a system or system of systems for complex products such as aircraft. The work I am involved in includes aircraft design, modifications, and test and evaluation.
