      I am a mom of 2 girls 👭(4 and 9 years old). I’m from The Bahamas 🏝️and love to swim with sharks  🦈 and turtles 🐢! I teach about Aquaculture which is about growing fish 🐟 and shrimps 🦐.

      People are always scared to swim with sharks. 🦈

      But the sharks 🦈 that I meet while diving are always scared of me. Maybe I should try smiling next time? 😊

      As an aquaculture nutritionist, I work to develop diets that meet the nutritional needs of fish and shrimp, which are raised in farms. Over 20 million people work in aquaculture and more than 50% of the seafood we eat is farmed, so it is important that we do it sustainably.

      Many people do not have access to much food, so instead of traveling far, they can grow their own fish 🐟or shrimp 🦐 in ponds and lakes.

      I can help them by making healthy food for shrimp, 🦐 lobsters, 🦞and fish 🐟 grown on farms. My goal is to help the animals grow strong. 😊

      I also want to make sure that the food we feed these animals does not harm the planet. 🌍

    • My Typical Day:

      My cats 🐈🐈wake me in the morning, and then I wake up my daughters. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 We all eat breakfast. 🥫🍲

      We go to school and work by bicycle 🚲 and scooter 🛴. I do experiments 🥼 in the lab. 🧪 I teach.

      I pick up my daughters and we eat dinner. Once my daughters are asleep 😴, I eat all of their snacks (well, not all!). 😊

    • What I'd do with the prize money:

      If I win the prize money 😊, I’ll buy a nice tank for fish 🐟 🐠and shrimp 🦐. I want to teach kids about them by letting them see the fish 🐟 and shrimp 🦐 up close. This way, kids will learn about these creatures and how important it is to protect their homes in the water.
