As a lead/senior engineer I get around £65k. A new starter as a graduate could get around £27k while an apprentice could be around £18k.
It does depend on different factors, such as your company, the industry you work in plus any benefits you get such as overtime or allowances (a daily bonus for working away from home or having to enter a hazardous area.). You might get a lower salary but get other benefits to compensate like a company car or phone, increased pension contributions, higher overtime rate or allowances.
